“The Annex” is a partnership of Freedom4U and the Palos Verdes Library District (PVLD).

The mission of The Annex is to provide students in grades 6 – 12 with a supervised, dedicated space that complements the services of the Peninsula Center Library and of Freedom4U’s programs and offers:

• Opportunities for safe, constructive interaction in a comfortable environment
• A collection of high interest, up-to-date, circulating library materials such as paperbacks, magazines, comics, graphic novels, and other formats of special interest to young people
• Access to games, computers, and other sources of information and entertainment
• Activities sponsored by Freedom4U & PVLD
• A place where the kids can meet, talk, hang out & have fun

On weekday afternoons and evenings ‘The Annex’ will be operated by PVLD staff and volunteers for group study, recreation, and library services and programs.

On weekend afternoons and evenings Freedom4U staff and volunteers will operate The Annex to host safe social events such as coffee houses, unplugged music, jazz, improv, comedy, drama, life skills workshops, mentoring programs and similar activities.

Freedom4U and the PVLD are sharing all costs for the Annex. Freedom4U is seeking funding for staffing, rent, utilities and other costs. Volunteers are also welcome.
