Lauren Forbes

Lauren excels as one of the top 5 real estate producers in the South Bay year-after-year. She credits her success to hard work, integrity and making connections. Although she does a large amount of volume, she is accessible to her clients and sure to be there when they need her most.

Lauren is extremely well versed in the contractual elements of the transactions and exhibits seasoned negotiating skills to protect and position her clients, which she accredits to her legal background. As an agent since 1999, she has extensive experience in handling challenging real estate transactions and resolving serious buyer and seller issues, which can save thousands of dollars and avert legal hassles.

Living in Southern California since 1977 and a long time resident of Manhattan Beach, Lauren is a graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, maintaining her current license to practice law in California. She is a leader in Forbes Corrales Coastal Properties.

Lauren loves traveling and is passionate about the beach, spinning, martial arts and is community patron, actively serving on the Board of Directors for Next Step Fitness. She consistently gives back to the community through her support to the Education Foundation, American Martyrs, Richstone and P.S. I Love You.

When I first learned about Freedom 4U I was stunned by the sheer number of children/teens that it helps and at the depth that it helps them.  Living in the South Bay and witnessing the drug and alcohol abuse and resultant deaths from it made me want to do something to make a difference.  On the face of it Freedom 4U helps teens find and follow their passions—at the core, we save lives.  It is my belief that we need to talk about it more so that we can get more people focused on the problem and also work on making a difference.  I am very proud to be part of this group.

John Corrales

John continues to be one of the top 50 Southern California agents for Forbes-Corrales Coastal Properties. Formerly, John transformed Northwest Realty into a leading firm by recruiting a team of agents who combined to have the highest sales volume per agent in the area. His creation and execution of the new brokerage brand from traditional to modern was as paramount a success as the recruiting of top performing agents.

Prior to Northwest, John was one of the first ever non-brokers to be recruited to South Bay Brokers.  He quickly excelled as one of their top 5 producers among the 150 associates. John also spent three years simultaneously working the luxury and REO markets amidst the real estate downturn of 2008. As one of the few professionals who successfully managed both markets, his experience and reputation in valuations and market momentum has proved invaluable to his clientele.

A South Bay resident since 1990, John is a graduate of University of Southern California. As he navigates his forties, John Corrales is more animated and focused than ever. He started in real estate before the internet changed the business landscape and continues to evolve with a vision beyond the Millennials with attention now on Generation D. A decade ago, he opened an office within a boutique firm before having an office in downtown Manhattan Beach was cool.

He talked the legendary owner into letting him re-brand it and attract the top agents. It paid off and the agents who work there today continue to thrive. Then, in 2011 John teamed up with Lauren Forbes to carve out large market share for Coldwell Banker, because CB wanted in. Their approach is daring, purposeful and creative. John coaches each of his sons’ sports teams and is on the board of 2 charities. “Life’s non-stop and I love it, “ he says, “my raw food diet helps, and I love surfing closeout barrels at medium to low tide. It makes it more interesting.”

David's Uncle Van Barbieri, who passed in 2012, was involved with Freedom4U for many years, and eventually was honored at an annual fundraiser after his passing. This was his first introduction to Freedom4U and the good the organization does. Since his introduction, he has been in attendance, and supporting, Freedom4U's various activities towards helping youth in the South Bay. He has always felt it to be a worthwhile cause, especially with 3 children of his own now.
