ANNUAL FILM CONTEST
We are no longer accepting submissions for our 2024 Film Contest.

Films must fit into one of the following categories:

Comedy
-
Sports
-
Drama
-
Broadcast Journalism
-
Teen Life
Each film must be less than 5 minutes. No exceptions.
Films will be scored on a 100-point scale:
-
25 points for technical skills, ability to see/hear without distraction
-
25 points for clearness of concept, vision, and filmmaker's point of view
-
25 points for character development, getting the most out of each actor
-
25 points for overall film, cohesion of scenes from start to finish
Deadline:
December 22nd, 2024
Please save video as a .mp4 or .mov file
Cost: $5 per person, no limit to # of films entered. Please send payment via Paypal under "Friends and Family" to admin@freedomcommunity.com or via the button above
You may also mail a DVD or USB drive to 336 Tejon Place, PVE, CA 90274. Please email Kyle if you submit a hard copy of your film, we will send you a confirmation email back.
Please write first and last name, highschool, film title and category on the DVD, or save video in this format if you are submitting a USB drive: FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_HIGHSCHOOL_FILMTITLE_CATEGORY

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must fill out the minor release form. Please email Kyle for the release form at kyle@freedomcommunity.com
Subject matter in films must be 'appropriate for a school environment' and be free of derogatory situations and stereotypes based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.
Keep swearing and gore/violence to a minimum. Films must not contain any or references to drugs, weapons, or other paraphernalia. If your video is disqualified because of any of these reasons, you will receive an email detailing what needs to be fixed, and an opportunity to re-edit or censor your video, and resubmit as long as it is edited and re-submitted a week prior to the deadline.
